Mabamba
Mabamba Bay is located northwest of the Entebbe peninsula, on the shores of Lake Victoria. In addition to being a Ramsar-listed wetland of international significance since 2006, it is one of Uganda's 33 Important Bird Areas. Three of Mabamba's most important protected bird species are the papyrus gonolek, blue swallow, and shoebill. Mabamba Bay is an unusually large marsh that stretches along a small bay and is bordered by papyrus as it approaches Lake Victoria's main body.
