Day 1 Pick Up, Kigali City Tour & Drive to the Hotel

Depending on your landing time at the airport, our English/French-speaking staff/driver-guide will come to pick you up from the airport. Then, you'll drive to the Kigali city tour, where you will get a chance to explore and visit different sites of the city, such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the biggest local market in Kigali called Kimironko, Nyamirambo, where Kigali is the capital, and many more interesting sites for travelers. Then, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will choose the best restaurant in the city to have lunch. After enjoying lunch, you will drive to your booked hotel and check in for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2 Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will wake up in the morning and then have your breakfast. After that, our driver-guide will come to pick you up and then drive you to the Northern province of Rwanda, where Volcanoes National Park is located. On arrival, you will continue with check-in at your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 Mountain Gorillas Trekking and Return to the Lodge

Early in the morning, after breakfast and with your packed lunch, your driver-guide will collect you from the lodge and take you to the park headquarters. You will receive a briefing on how to behave when meeting mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You will then proceed to trek the gorillas. After this remarkable experience, your driver-guide will return you to the lodge for a hot lunch, afternoon relax then Dinner and Overnight stay at your booked lodge called Tiloreza Volcanoes Eco-lodge.

Day 4 Golden Monkeys Trekking and Overnight Stay

Early in the morning, after breakfast and with your packed lunch, your driver-guide will collect you from the lodge and take you to the park headquarters. You will receive a briefing on how to behave when meeting mountain golden monkeys in their natural habitat. You will then proceed to trek the golden monkeys. After this remarkable experience, your driver-guide will return you to the lodge for a hot lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo with your driver-guide. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5 Transfer to Nyungwe National Park & Overnight stay

In the morning, after your breakfast, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will come to pick you up and then drive you to the southwest of Rwanda, where the park is located. You will be enjoying the beautiful rolling hills of Nyungwe National Park. On arrival at the park, you will check into your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6 Chimpanzees Trekking in Nyungwe National Park & Overnight Stay

You will wake up and get your early morning breakfast. Then, with your packed lunch from the lodge, our driver-guide will come to pick you up and then drive you to the boundary of Nyungwe forest, where you will jump in with a local guide to trek chimps. On arrival in the chimpanzee family, you will be given time to observe them and take as many photos as you can. After that special enjoyment, you will come back to the driver-guide, who will drive you back to your booked lodge. Later, you'll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7 Waterfall Hike and Night Walk

In the morning after your breakfast, our driver guide will come to pick you up and drive you for birdwatching with a local guide to enjoy different species of birds like the Rwenzori Turaco, sunbirds. Then, you will be brought back to your lodge for lunch and an afternoon of relaxation. In the evening, our driver-guide will come to pick you up and drive you for a night walk with a local guide to try to experience the night experience with viewing some animals such as bush babies, Genet cats, and porcupines. Later, we will drive you back to your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8 Transfer to Akagera National Park

Early morning, you will wake up and then get your breakfast at 8:00 am. The driver-guide will come to pick you up and drive you to Akagera National Park. On arrival at the lodge, you will check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat trip on Lake Ihema to see water birds, crocodiles, and hippos. Then, you will be dropped back to your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9 Full-Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park

You will wake up and have your breakfast at your lodge. The driver-guide will come to take you for a full-day game drive. In the evening, you will come back to the lodge, then you get ready night game drive where you will get a chance to spot nocturnal animals such as leopards, hyenas, jackals, and many more night animals. After enjoying that night's game drive, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10 Game Drive and Local Communities Visit

After breakfast, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will take you on a short game drive in the south of the park. You'll enjoy seeing the park's attractions, such as its landscape and animals like zebras, antelopes, and bird species. Then, the driver-guide will take you to the lodge for lunch. Later, you will be taken to interact with local communities and join them in some of their daily activities. You can participate in milking cows by hand, brewing banana and sorghum beer, collecting honey from bee hives, traditional dancing, and more. After enjoying time with the locals, the driver-guide will take you back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Ruzizi Tented Lodge.

Day 11 Transfer Back to Kigali

In the morning, after breakfast, you will check out, and then the Lion Safaris driver-guide will come to pick you up. You will begin your journey back to Kigali. He will drop you off at your hotel/home or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
