Day 1 Airport to Moshi

On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver and transferred to Moshi. The drive from the airport to Moshi takes approximately one hour, passing through beautiful rural landscapes, small villages, and open fields with spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day. Checking in at your hotel for dinner, briefing, preparation for the adventure ahead and overnight stay at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 2 Moshi – Londorossi Gate to Big Tree Camp

The Tour Starts from Moshi, Lemosho Route Climbing Kilimanjaro starts by heading to Lemosho Gate. After a one-and-a-half hour drive to Londorossi Gate for registration, you continue another 15 km into the dense rainforest to the trailhead. A moderately steep path leads to Big Tree Camp (2,780m). Look out for monkeys and interesting birds along the way. The tents will be ready, with hot tea and washing water waiting.

Day 3 Big Tree Camp to Shira Camp 2

Today’s long trek continues through the forest and gradually ascends to the Shira Plateau. Enjoy mountain views and plains below. After crossing the Shira Ridge (3,600m), you stop for lunch at Shira Camp 1. The final section climbs another 250m past surreal giant Senecia plants to Shira Camp 2 (3,900m). After the long day, you’ll relax with coffee, tea, and a hearty meal while watching the summit glow in the afternoon sun.

Day 4 Shira Camp 2 – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp

Today you’ll trek up to 4,640m at Lava Tower before descending to sleep at Barranco, 60m higher than last night’s camp — a great acclimatization strategy. The landscape changes to rocky alpine desert on the way up. Later, descend into the Barranco Valley with its giant Senecias and Lobelias. After 6–7 hours, you’ll reach Barranco Camp, one of the most scenic camps on Kilimanjaro.

Day 5 Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

The day begins with the famous Barranco Wall. Though it looks daunting, it’s easier than it appears, with a few scrambling sections. From the top, admire sweeping views before continuing along ridges into Karanga Valley. After lunch, arrive at Karanga Camp with fantastic views of the southern glaciers of Kibo and the summit.

Day 6 Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

A steady uphill hike through rocky, desolate alpine desert leads to Barafu Camp on a narrow ridge. The views of Mawenzi Peak are spectacular. Spend the afternoon resting, hydrating, and preparing for the summit attempt. Dinner is served early, then you’ll rest until your midnight wake-up call.

Day 7 Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

Summit day! You’ll start just after midnight, climbing by headlamp up volcanic scree toward Stella Point (5,739m). The sun rises as you approach the crater rim. From here, it’s another 1–2 hours to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating and photos, descend back to Barafu for a short break before continuing to Mweka Camp (3,080m) for your overnight rest.

Day 8 Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi

Enjoy breakfast as your porters sing their traditional Kilimanjaro songs. Then descend 1,300m through lush forest to Mweka Gate. Here, you’ll receive your summit certificate before being transferred back to Moshi for a hot shower, soft bed, and well-earned celebration. Walking Time: 4–5 hours Distance: 10 km Altitude Loss: 1,300m.

Day 9 Moshi - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up from Moshi early in the Morning and drive to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Enjoy the diverse wildlife and scenic landscapes as you explore the park. Lunch will be served at a designated picnic site within the park. After the game drive, you will be transferred to Kizumba or Heaven Nature Campsite for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by nature and tranquility, providing the perfect end to a memorable day.

Day 10 Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you'll embark on a half-day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, where you have a great chance of spotting the Big Five: lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and leopard. Lunch will be enjoyed at a picnic site on the crater floor, surrounded by the stunning scenery. After a rewarding day of wildlife viewing, you’ll return to the camp at Mto Wa Mbu for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 11 Lake Manyara to Moshi Town

After an early breakfast, leave the camp and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its beautiful scenery and diverse wildlife. In the afternoon, go on a game drive where you’ll have the chance to see unique tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, hippos, and a variety of bird species. The park’s mix of forest, water, and plains creates a stunning backdrop for your wildlife adventure. After the game drive, by late afternoon, you will arrive back in Moshi, concluding an exciting and memorable day of adventure.

Day 12 Moshi to Kilimanjaro Airport
