06:30 AM – Pick-up & Departure Your safari begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. After a short briefing from your Kitano Tours & Safaris guide, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, enjoying a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley and the beautiful Tanzanian countryside. 09:00 AM – Game Drive in Lake Manyara National Park Arrive at the park and begin an exciting game drive through its diverse habitats, including groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and the alkaline lake. Wildlife commonly seen includes: African elephants Giraffes Zebras Buffaloes Hippos Baboons Blue monkeys Wildebeests Impalas Flamingos (seasonal) Pelicans and storks With some luck, you may also spot the park's famous tree-climbing lions. 12:30 PM – Picnic Lunch Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park's scenic picnic sites while surrounded by nature. 01:30 PM – Afternoon Game Drive Continue exploring the park, searching for more wildlife and enjoying excellent photography opportunities. 04:00 PM – Transfer to Karatu Leave Lake Manyara National Park and drive to Karatu, where you will check in to your lodge or tented camp. 06:30 AM – Breakfast Enjoy an early breakfast before departing for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. 08:00 AM – Descend into Ngorongoro Crater Drive to the crater rim before descending approximately 600 meters into the crater floor for an unforgettable wildlife experience. The crater offers one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa and is one of the best places to see the Big Five. Animals commonly seen include: Lions African elephants Black rhinoceroses Buffaloes Leopards (occasionally) Hyenas Hippos Zebras Wildebeests Gazelles Flamingos (seasonal) 12:30 PM – Picnic Lunch Enjoy lunch at the famous Ngoitokitok Hippo Pool Picnic Site while watching hippos in their natural habitat. 01:30 PM – Afternoon Game Drive Continue exploring the crater floor before ascending to the crater rim. 03:30 PM – Return to Arusha Begin your journey back to Arusha. 06:00 PM – Arrival Arrive in Arusha and transfer to your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your memorable safari with Kitano Tours & Safaris.
