3-Day Akagera Safari, Golden Monkey Trek & Ibyiwacu Cultural Experience

On arrival at the airport, our waiting driver-guide will meet and brief you on this 3-day tour in Rwanda. We will then transfer to the park on the 2.5 hour journey from Kigali. Alternatively, if you are already in Kigali, our driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel or place of residence after breakfast, and drive to the Kayonza district in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. The journey to Akagera National Park will reward you with planned en-route stopovers along the route. Feel free to ask your driver-guide questions about the wonderful scenery and even request photographic stopovers along the way. As you arrive at the park, you will check in to your booked safari accommodation at the lodge and order your lunch. You will then proceed for a sunset boat ride on Lake Ihema with a chance to see the aquatic mammals such as hippos and crocodiles in the lake or on the shores. You will drive back to the lodge for a dinner and rest.

You will wake up at 6:00am early in the morning and after having your breakfast. You will leave for a full-day safari game drive in the park. (Order your packed lunch). You can expect to see the Big Five mammals (lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and leopard) as well as antelopes, kobs, and baboons, among others. Akagera National Park is a varied habitat for wildlife species in Rwanda and a birder's haven with more than 500 bird species in the park. Later, in the afternoon you will transfer back to Kigali at your hotel for dinner and rest.

Our driver guide will pick up from your hotel by 4:30 AM and drive to Musanze the home of mountain gorillas, golden monkeys, and hikes. On your way, you will be having time to discover and view Rwandan landscapes plus the sunrise. Upon arrival in Musanze, you will proceed to the park headquarters Kinigi to meet your guides for the day. After completing the park formalities, you are embarking on a lifetime experience of trekking the famous golden monkeys. Once you spot them, you are allowed to spend an hour watching them do their daily activities. After completing your experiences, Visit Gorilla Guardians Village where you showcased the ancient Rwanda king's stories, and will have people dancing for you. You will be transferred back to Kigali. You will have en route souvenir shopping in the city, depending on your flight details, and drive to Kigali International Airport for your outbound flight back home. Our driver guide will hug you and wish you a safe flight.
