3-Day Bull Jamping and Camping with Mursi Omo Valley

Early morning you will fly Addis Ababa to Jinka and We'll pick you up at Jinka Airport and stop at Besha Restaurant for a quick snack, tour briefing, and refreshment. Then drive about 2 hours to Turmi. En route, visit the lively Omo Regional Market (held every day), where Ari, Tsemai, Hamar, and Benna people trade crafts, jewelry, and spices a colorful glimpse into their vibrant culture. In the afternoon, witness the fascinating Hamar bull-jumping ceremony, a rite of passage from boyhood to manhood. If it's not happening that day, visit the largest Hamar village to experience their daily life and traditions.

Set out early for Korcho, a Kara village on the Omo River, famed for its floral decorations and artistic body paintings that reflect their rich culture. Enjoy coffee in a traditional hut while hearing stories passed down through generations and engaging with elders and women to learn about their way of life. Return to Turmi for lunch, then drive about 4 hours to Mursi, where our team will have camp ready. Visit nearby villages to meet the Mursi people, known for their lip plates, striking headdresses, and colorful beadwork, and learn about their traditions and lifestyle.

In Jinka, visit the South Omo Research Center and Museum to learn about the diverse communities of the Omo Valley. Explore Jinka Market, where local communities trade goods, crafts, and spices. Enjoy scenic views from the town's hills overlooking the Omo Valley, and experience authentic coffee ceremonies in local cafes for a taste of Ethiopian hospitality. Afternoon fly back to Addis Ababa.
