5-Day Nyungwe National Park and Culture Hertage Tour

Your Rwandan adventure begins the moment you land at Kigali International Airport, where a warm welcome from Naleyo Tours & Travel sets the tone for the journey ahead. Travel southwest through Rwanda's rolling emerald hills and endless tea plantations to Nyanza, where the King's Palace Museum brings the country's regal past to life. Step inside traditional thatched huts, admire the graceful Inyambo cattle adorned with royal ornaments, and immerse yourself in tales of ancient monarchs and tradition. Continue through scenic countryside to your luxury lodge in the heart of Nyungwe Forest. After a sumptuous lunch, venture onto the famous Canopy Walk, a 160-meter bridge suspended above the lush rainforest. Surrounded by mist, birdsong, and towering mahoganies, you'll feel the wild pulse of Africa beneath your feet. The day ends in refined comfort, as the forest hums softly under the starlit Rwandan sky.

Enjoy an early breakfast and check out. At 7:00 AM, set off for Nyungwe National Park. En route, you will visit the King's Palace and the Ethnographic Museum in Huye. The Ethnographic Museum is one of the six museums that make up the Institute of National Museums of Rwanda. This Museum was built in 1987, and now houses one of Africa's finest ethnographic collections. Its seven galleries display historical, ethnographic, artistic and archaeological artifacts accompanied by visual aids, giving visitors a rich insight into the culture of Rwandans. Lunch will be served at Stafford Restaurant in Huye. After lunch, you will proceed to Nyungwe National Park. Upon arrival, check-in assistance will be provided, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

On this day at 05h00 you will get your packed breakfast and drive to the park headquarters. Upon arrival, you will have Chimpanzee trek briefing and formalities. You will then proceed with your guide to the evergreen life. Luckily you may be welcomed by chimp morning calls deep in the forest upon encountering the chimps, you will be allowed to stay in their presence for one hour as you enjoy their acrobats, feeding life and their day today behaviors. 10h00: After this amazing experience, proceed to the hotel, where you will rest and relax. Lunch will be at 12h45. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure and enjoying the surroundings of your hotel. 13h45: Drive to the park headquarters for briefing before you do your guided canopy walk that starts at 15h00. Hanging 60 meters above the forest floor between giant trees and towers. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. Spend your morning relaxing and exploring the hotel surroundings, including the swimming pool. Lunch will be served, and in the late afternoon, you will visit the nearby Gisakura Tea Plantation.. Gisakura Tea Plantation, located near Nyungwe National Park in Rwanda, is a stunning destination known for its lush green landscapes and high-quality tea production. Established in the 1950s, the plantation spans over 1,200 hectares and is one of the largest tea producers in the region. Visitors to Gisakura can explore the picturesque fields, where rows of vibrant tea bushes stretch across rolling hills, creating a breathtaking backdrop for photos. The plantation offers guided tours that provide insight into the tea production process, from plucking the leaves to processing and packaging. Guests can also learn about the cultural significance of tea in Rwanda and the sustainable farming practices employed at the plantation.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before checking out. You will then embark on a scenic drive back to Kigali, stopping in Huye for lunch. After lunch, continue your journey to Kigali, with an anticipated arrival in the evening in time for your outbound journey. Bid farewell to your driver-guide as you conclude your trip.
