Upon arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, your private driver will transfer you to your hotel in the heart of Stone Town. Spend the afternoon settling in and soaking up the island’s unique atmosphere, or take a leisurely walk through the narrow streets of this UNESCO World Heritage site, discovering its historic architecture and vibrant local life. In the evening you can explore the Forodhani garden market to try Swahili cuisines.

After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of Stone Town. Explore its winding streets, historic landmarks like the House of Wonders, the Sultan’s Palace, and the Old Fort, and stop by bustling spice and souvenir markets. Mid-morning, aboard a boat to Prison Island (Changuu Island). Walk among the historic prison ruins, meet the famous giant Aldabra tortoises, and enjoy optional swimming or snorkeling in the clear waters surrounding the island. Return to Stone Town in the late afternoon and relax at your hotel or enjoy lunch at a local café.

Start the day with a visit to a traditional spice farm. Wander through fragrant gardens and see how spices like cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla are grown and harvested. From there, continue to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, to see the rare red colobus monkeys. Enjoy a guided walk-through mangrove boardwalks, and swamp areas, spotting monkeys and birds. You will be transferred to your beach resort in Nungwi or Kendwa, where you can unwind on the white sands and watch the sunset at the Indian Ocean horizon or enjoy an adrenaline-filled jet ski adventure along the crystal-clear waters of Nungwi or Kendwa Beach at an additional cost. Ride across calm turquoise seas, admire panoramic views of Zanzibar’s northern coastline, and feel the thrill of speed on the Indian Ocean. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by Armadillo adventures professional guide and embark on your first game drive, exploring the park’s savannahs and woodlands. Spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birdlife. Midday, enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. In the late afternoon, continue your game drive before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Park, one of Tanzania’s most spectacular and biologically rich rainforests. Spend the day trekking part of the ancient Eastern Arc Mountains. The highlight of the walk is the dramatic Sanje Waterfalls, plunging nearly 170 meters down sheer cliffs and offering breathtaking views over the Kilombero Valley. Depending on the route, you may also visit the more secluded Prince Bernhard Falls or the tranquil Njokamoni Falls, hidden deep within the forest. Along the trails, keep watch for endemic wildlife, including the Iringa red colobus monkey, Sanje mangabey, and a dazzling variety of butterflies and bird species found nowhere else in the world. In the afternoon you will have a picnic lunch, in the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and a restful night.

After breakfast, you will have your final game drive in Mikumi National Park, and in the afternoon after your picnic lunch you will be transferred to the local airstrip for your flight back to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar for your onward departure.
