Shira Plateau Day Trip (Mount Kilimanjaro) The Shira Plateau day trip is a scenic adventure on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting with a drive to Londorossi Gate, guests enter the park and continue to the Shira Plateau, a beautiful high-altitude area with wide open landscapes, volcanic formations, and stunning views of Kibo Peak. The walk is gentle and suitable for travelers who want to experience Kilimanjaro without climbing to the summit. Wildlife such as colobus monkeys, antelope, and diverse birdlife may be seen. Picnic lunch is enjoyed on the plateau before returning in the afternoon.
