Itinerary of 5-Day Wild Beginnings Calving Season & Big Five

Your guide will pick you up from your Arusha hotel at 8:00 am, then drive for 3 hours to Tarangire National Park, where you will have a full-day game drive. Later, you will drive to the hotel in Karatu for dinner and overnight. Tarangire National Park is 115 km from Arusha and covers 2,800 km². The wild animals drink water from the Tarangire River, where the name "Tarangire" comes from. The park has major attractions, including large numbers of elephants, tree-climbing lions, pythons, and baobab trees. You will also be able to see lions, leopards, and other animals in this beautiful park.

After breakfast, you'll depart for Serengeti National Park (4 hours). You'll arrive in Central Serengeti and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park’s vast plains after having lunch, where you can spot a variety of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, and wildebeest. Return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti.

Witness the breathtaking great wildebeest migration in the Ndutu area, where thousands of wildebeest gather to calve. Explore the diverse landscapes of the region, including swamps, woodlands, and short-grass plains, providing a rich environment for wildlife and a unique opportunity to observe the circle of life in action.

Enjoy the full calving moments of the wildebeest from morning to afternoon on game drives, visiting Lake Ndutu, the Hidden Valley, and marsh areas, while observing dramatic predator-prey interactions and enjoying a sundowner in the wilderness. Viewing the Big Five through the plains of Serengeti fills the desire of the heart with beautiful moments found in Serengeti National Park.

After breakfast in Ndutu, you'll drive to the Ngorongoro Crater for about 2 hours, then descend into the world’s largest unbroken caldera for an exciting game drive in search of the Big Five. Enjoy a picnic lunch before heading to Arusha for your departure or an overnight stay.
